This is Alisha Crowder. I grew up in a rather small community. I lived pretty far away from any town or city out in a township that spanned a few square miles. I learned that I rather enjoyed playing music, but I also liked to do things with my hands such as go fishing, or even build something from nothing. I did eventually get older and had forgotten a lot of that joy I had back then.

It would be several years later that I found a new joy, but due to my impatience, I stopped going to college for what I felt was my calling and joined the military. I went into the Navy where I was trained as a nuclear electrician's mate and served 6 years in that duty until my end of active obligated service (EAOS). I got out and started working as an industrial electrician where I live at today.

Electrical work, by itself was not as fulfilling to me as it was for others in the same field. I quickly grew bored with it and the job was not as enjoyable as it was when it was brand new and fresh. I had lost the joy and excitement of working in that field. I couldn't complain since it was paying the bills and keeping food on the table.

While working there, I rediscovered my joy for playing music and later pursued it in the form of playing the violin. That is me in the picture playing it at the church I currently attend. However, I thought that maybe this was my true calling. The issue that I found out is, my mood changes like the wind in a hurricane. I can be interested in it for a spell and then not so much. I am still, to this day, taking lessons to master this instrument for my own personal enjoyment, but it is not the end all be all for me. So what do I do?

I then discovered that I still really enjoy working with my hands. I still like making things that are new and usable. I enjoy trying new things and seeing if I can get things to work the way I want them to work. So, now I am just a hobbyist. I come up with different problems and see if I can come up with something that works. I am not trying to solve world energy problems or end world strife, just things to satisfy a curiosity. Proving to myself if I can do it or not. I even post the hobbies I have done and a kind of instructions on how to do it for those who want to use it for one of their own projects or to use it to improve something at home.

Music is a kind of hobby too, so don't be surprised if music projects appear on my list of projects that I've done. I do hope everyone who visits my hobby corner enjoys the projects I have posted. I am always open to new ideas and hope to see those who want to talk more about projects in the Facebook group I am hosting where we talk about just that.
